Default Is it just me or do my mixes sound better w/5.1?

Just got done installing the 5.1 download. Pretty painless I've gotta say. Opened a mix I'm in the middle of and...hey, wait a minute, I think it sounds BETTER with 5.1. Was their some improvement to the Mixer or what? I haven't bounced to disc yet (I heard they re-wrote that function completely) but just playing back this mix, it seems to sound better. The thing that grabbed me was some panning effect I had and it just seems to translate better now. Maybe better imaging?
Anyone else notice a different sound to their mixes with 5.1??

Tim

Y'know Tim I thought it was just me, but I'm convinced 5.1 sounds better too! There's just a depth / space there now, to my ears, that wasn't there before. BTW I'm using 5.1LE - ....... I'll be interested to see what others find.
Peace
Tony

Just a Guitar track that moved from one side to the other that I thought the effect was more "Pronounced" in 5.1. This was the first thing I noticed (about 10 seconds into playing the track for the first time). After further listening I did seem to like the "sound" of the mix on 5.1. I haven't done any real comparisons, just opening up my 5.0.1 sessions in 5.1.

yea, I'm pretty impressed by the upgrade so far... I wish they had instruction for the plug-ins though (and presets as they have for the compression).
