Default Virtual instruments?

I have recently installed an Audiomedia iii card in my pc, I am running le 5.1
Dose this system have any virtual instruments that i can use with the midi functions,and if so are they stored as inserts, how do I channel them???

audiomedia3 and ptle on itself dont have virtual instruments. But there are some softsynths you can use. You can download a free one at www.sampletank.com . Its a bit limited...but its free. The latency is quite good. There are also a lot of promises for softsynths on ptle windows. I suggest you browse around here, and keep your eyes and ears open.

I thought you could only use SampleTank with LE 5.3.1 and XP.

sampletank also runs well on ptle 5.1.1 on win98 se...i have a dualboot system...and it runs on both. I do have some problems thoug...but usually it works fine.

Cool! This is great news! For some reason I thought in order to use SampleTank you had to be running 5.3.1, which I'd gladly be running if my current PC played nicely with XP.
