MOTU Micro Express & Digi 002 Question
The MOTU Micro Express has 4ins & 6outs. I want to be able to record from an electric drum kit & a keyboard. From PT, I have defined the OMS MIDI Setup as having the MOTU with
#1 in/out DIGI 002 #2 in/out Keyboard #3 in/out Drum Kit #4 in/out synth module To record, it seems like I should be able to select the MOTU device for my MIDI source and and record, but it just aint so! I can't seem to get PT to recognize the incoming MIDI signals. I have checked the following: 1) I have downloaded the latest drivers 2) Double and Triple checked proper MIDI in/out connections 3) Tried configuring Clockworks, but I'm not sure if PT even looks at that. 4) Fruitless acts of desperation Frankly, I am trying hard but am in way too deep! I would very much appreicate any simple suggestions! OS9 PT 5.3.2

Re: MOTU Micro Express & Digi 002 Question
Ok, I figured it out. I welded all the midi cables to the MOTU to make sure they were firmly connected. Then, I drilled a 3/4" hole through the unit and bolted it firmly to my laptop. Finally, I microwaved the MOTU, laptop and all the cables. Now, everything is SMOKIN' BABY!
Thanks! Syd Lincoln Portable Welding Machine Black and Decker Drill 3/4" Bolt from Home Depot General Electric Microwave Compaq laptop (just couldn't do that to my mac)

Re: MOTU Micro Express & Digi 002 Question
Syd,
The answer is that the MOTU MIDI Express is not on the DIGI Design compatibility list. Therefore, there is no guarantee that you will be able to fully utilize it. I suggest you look into some of the units that DIGI has listed as being supported. For now, if you plan to go with OSX, your option is listed at this link: OSX Digi O002 Midi Compatible If you are OS9, then you could use the following, but you couldn't use most of them with OSX: OS9 Digi 002 Midi Compatible Hope this helps and good luck! Syd
