Default Stereo Plug-in Automation

Hi all,

I'm automating the filter cut-off points of an EQ plug-in. I can 'write' the data (left and right-hand chanels together) in realtime, but how do I 'draw' both channels together using the pencil tool?

So far it seems I can only view either the left or right hand automation data - not both together. Obviously, both channels must remain sample accurate or the imaging becomes skewed.

Am I missing something?

Cheers,

Phil

Just a follow-up to see if there's a workaround, or I've missed something...

Is it possibe to simultaneously 'draw' or 'edit' the automation for both the left and righthand sides of a stereo track?

If not, I feel this should be something for Digidesign to look into.

Also, whilst I'm here, just so you're aware, when using the abreviation for "and" (ie. "&") in the "Input/Output" labeling window, it won't translate to the main part of ProTools. For example, say I labeled an input as "Sub 1&2", it is displayed in ProTools as "Sub 12".

Cheers,

Phil

First draw the automation into the left filter channel. Then copy the automation (command+c). Switch to the right channel automation playlist, special paste with control+command+v.

Actually I've found filters sounding more interesting when the automations are NOT exactly the same in the both stereo channels!

Ditto Zeus,

Didn't know about special paste.
