Default strike question

hello,
i'm needing to know if strike works via drag & drop like the other drum software ( addictive drums, toontrack)? i've seen a few vids on the strike software & haven't seen drag & drop used yet. maybe i just looked over it. also, on the accelerated vids i heard dude say you can create your own patterns. so do you have to create you own patterns with a MIDI controller or does this have a step sequencer like Reason? can you customize the drum kits in strike? thanx for any info you can pass along.
