...and type in the numeric values instead of only having sliders. Also, strip to the nearest beat or bar could be useful.

--Hear Hear!-- (or is it "Here Here"?)

In either case, I concur with the previous posters, and especially concur with the "strip to the nearest beat or bar" idea. Would that be a very difficult bit of programming? Seems as though it would be a modest modification in the sense that you would simply be adding a "limiting" instruction or two to a function that is already there. (I realize I may be seeing the programming end of things incorrectly, of course.)

Any other DAW software that does this? I.E., this IS doable, right?

...and some shortcuts for the buttons in the window would be great too... for that matter every function and button should have a shortcut.

Yeah, ad can you please incorporate variable fade options? If you're there, why not fade while your at it? Other DAWs of lesser cash do this. My Porche is being edged out by a Saturn.

I'd like to see an option to slam together all the subsequent regions that Strip Silence makes after it breaks a big file apart. I spend way too much time in Shuffle mode snapping them all together.

Use the region list and drop them in the track, left to right. I think this feature came with PT 7.

and a lower threshold setting for sample cd work.... a lot of times I have delicate instruments which only peak around -10db and the noise floor is down to -80db. A lower threshold could help preserve those early transients.
