Re: Addictive Drums
I did some beta testing on this one. I really like it. The basic sounds are very good, but the processing power of the built in eq, compression, and lofi, make this really exciting. If you use drum modules, you should check out the demo. Highly recommended.

Re: Addictive Drums
Interesting that both DFH and these are made in Stockholm. Seems like the Swedes are competing on what one should think, was a relatively small marked.
The samples sound pretty cool...especially the reagge kit is very convincing. But I never do any reagge

Re: Addictive Drums
So is this like ezd in that you just drag each loop right onto your instrument track? How are the samples "right out of the box"... I have strike for PT.. EZD for logic and pt... I find myself using strike most often just because i find it the easiest way to get drums to lay down an idea before i forget it... after I get my parts down i go back and re-do the drums usually to get the pattern i really want..... Ok, on and on.. Question is, is it super simple to just get going no problem... I really like the idea of the whole midi song layout they showed on their site... That way I could just put that down and go without worrying about anyhting... I've done that in pt though with strike, I made a midi track setup with setup with a verse, fill chorus, fill, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus chous set up so i can just open that midi file into any "style" in strike and i can go... ok ok... Question is, is it super simple to just get going no problem... .. Thanks, sorry for the long and somewhatg rambly post...

Re: Addictive Drums
Frank, the best thing is to download the demo. It's fully functional but with less content.
Yes it does feature drag and drop and this feature does work in PT7.3 It is VERY easy to use but if you want to go deeper you can. The sounds are way more tweak-able than EZ and even with the one kit supplied you can listen to about 20 different presets. (look for the presets in the drop down menu, I missed them at first) The sounds you can get by using the onboard eq and comp and 2 reverbs are outrageous. The raw sounds are also very useable. The supplied midi files are very detailed, varied and more importantly tasteful. |

Re: Addictive Drums
Just tested the demo version...and must say that it is very usefull indeed. Especially for songwriting and demo'ing. Very fast to get something very decent sounding...and very radical preset changes can be loaded instantly.
Intuitive and easy to operate...and let me create some really great sounding presets in no time. But I don't think this one can replace real drums...and allow super realistic programming, like I'm able to do with DFHS & Vintage. There are too many samples that aren't phaze coherent between close mikes and room/head mikes...and the articulations are more basic. But this instrument is far more rock'n roll than Strike or EZDrummer! Lots of grit and dirt...and the midi loops have a good feel generally. Thumbs up!
