Default Pro Tools 2018.4 freezing Windows 10

So I've just upgraded to 2018.4 on my Windows 10 machine and Pro Tools is now freezing. When I try to playback, suddenly the Stop and Play button flash twice and it simply will not let me begin playback.
I can click on file and quit, however it takes around 2 minutes to quit PT, it just hangs.
It was working perfectly before the update. Can I roll back to their previous version? I wish I didn't update it now :/

Could be lots of things.

The install switched your audio driver.
The buffer settings is too high in PT i.e. was reset
Some controller or midi device needs to be reset, set up etc.
Somehow the audio services in windows got shut off.

If the program boots and you can even get to the transport, it's not serious.

Also, the same stalled device or driver is what is causing the hang as well.

Yes, you can uninstall and re-install an older build. Go to Control Panel>Remove a program and right-click on Avid Pro Tools. It likely will only show a "Change" option so select that, and in the next window, select Remove. In the window that pops up next, you'll see 3 options; Remove Pro Tools, Only, Remove PT and HD driver, and Remove PT, and everything(database, prefs, etc). IF the second option I mention shows, select that one(because if you leave the HD driver in, the next installation will get confused and think PT is still installed). This is regardless of whether you have HD or not

Phil raises some good points, especially if Windows is trying to use your interface as its "Default Playback Device"(Windows users should always set that to use the on-board sound card). Also, sometimes Windows does its own updates and those CAN reset certain system settings(like the default playback device, and USB power management)

FWIW, 2018.4 is working fine here
