Fishman Prefix Stereo Blender

I am trying to track a Taylor 12 string guitar via the included Prefix Stereo Blender using the stereo option. I find the tone is harsh at any setting I've come up with. Its both bright and mettalic, not the sound at all of tracking with 2 mics. I tried a mono out thru a POD XT and using the tube preamp setting with abit of Chorus and Reverb, or the Matchless Chieftain amp, I get a much smoother signal. But it is mono.

Any advice for a better chain to the 002R? Guitar - Fishman Prefix - Preamp??? - 002R. Would a real tube pre soften the sound and cut the harshness? I want to track w/o mics and go stereo direct as I'm tired of hearing ambulances, dogs and my kids yelling in the background.

Cliffy I don't know if this is what you want to hear but my Larrivee with the Fishman nevers sounds as good as it does when it's mic'd

I already shot the dog. Now the problems is having to filter out Average Joe from the bedroom TV and that cannot be turned off

Cliffy... I assume thats the wife in the bedroom watching the TV.You've got to do your duty, go in there, give her what she wants,put her to sleep with a smile on her face, and then sneak out and do some work
