digidesign hardware cannot be recognized in OSX

i have OS 10.2.8 and PTLE version 6.1.2 loaded on a G4 Dual 867 with the DIGI002. the error message keeps saying that the system cannot find digidesign hardware, check cables and try again. Nothing happens. it just keeps showing the same error. i hit cancel and PT stops loading. i have tried 3 different Digi002 systems (took them back to guitar center one after the other) NOTHING... if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to holla back. thanks....

It is possible you have had 3 bad 002's but are you sure it is hooked up correctly.
Firewire Drive hooked up to the computer. 002 hooked up to the computer separately.
Turn on 002. Load PT

had the same problem after I stuffed an install of 6.1, from then on in I could not get it to recognise the hardware to save my life.

Reinstalled the os from scratch(10.3) onto a clean disk, reinstalled PT6.1 and upped to 6.2.2,
all works like a charm again.

May have to start again mate, unless its something simple it seems to be some file that doesnt change without a complete format and start again, sory.

Try setting the sound to youre internal sound card instead of core audio, That solved the problem for me once. Can you see other firewire devices working?
