I'm on both Perpetual Ultimate and Studio 2023 here.

As Sketch offers only PlayCell and SynthCell for instruments.
Do I loose the ability to use them in Sketch when my 1yr Upgrades and Support runs out?

Making those two instruments subscription dependant was such poor form..

Umm, I guess so?! And yes it was!
The Avid folks haven't chipped in to confirm, but as far as I can tell it's a subscription/updates only tool (as far as the instruments go anyway.)

Never mind. I'll pretend it didn't happen.
Shame it's all over the Dashboard though, I liked using that.

The SynthCell and PlayCell in Sketch (along with all the built-in effects in Sketch) are free along with Sketch itself.

So just to clarify...

On the PlayCell/SynthCell webpages it says:

Pro Tools | PlayCell sample player instrument is included with all Pro Tools Artist, Pro Tools Studio, and Pro Tools Ultimate subscriptions and active 1-Year Software Updates + Support Plans.

Is it just that the info there is out of date, or is there another licensing arrangement I'm not understanding?

Sketch internally has its own versions of SynthCell and PlayCell (plus other plug-ins) that are separate from the AAX editions of those plug-ins that come with Pro Tools. They will work inside of Sketch always. Hope that clarifies.
