Mic buzzing
I just noticed on my Neumann u87 ai that when I switch on the -10db pad it starts to BUZZZZZZZZZZ. I am not so handy with electronics and will be taking it to a pro in a few days but could anyone tell me what this most likely could be ? Has anyone had this problem with this mic ? It has been in its case at all times ( except for when in use obviously ) has had no contact with smoke and was only hit once. Someone knocked the boom stand i was using ( wasnt heavy enough ) over and it smacked the snare. No dents or anything. Mabey something loose inside ? It wasnt like that when I bought it and have no idea when it started.

Re: Mic buzzing
If its quiet with the PAD off, then I suspect a dirty or bad switch or a cold solder joint on the switch.
