Default What, the buzzing?

Yet another wrapped VST problem from everyone's favourite Irish rogue.

I have carefully followed these instructions, as found on this forum, in order to get my MIDI tracks to play:

Stereo aux track - Insert wrapped VST version on the aux track, set proper level, set output to bus 1&2.
MIDI track - output set to wrapped VST, either playing back recorded data or record enabled for live performance
Stereo Audio Track - input set to bus 1&2, record armed, monitoring mode set to "Input Only".
Ensure that signal is produced on all tracks.

And yet all I get is a loud, screechy buzzing sound which pretty much causes me to leap out of my cans.

I have tried a variety of wrapped VST synths, but with the same result. Anyone experience this before?

My specs:
Win XP SP2; Pro Tools LE 6.8.1; Mbox 2; 2GB DDR2; Pentium D 2.8 GHz; good sense of humour; looking for friendship and maybe more

Take out that step and set your aux track output to analog 1&2 (default). The stereo audio track is only needed if you are trying to print the audio from the VST synth.

Thanks a mill, but I've also done that.

Now, for whatever reason, I'm getting nothing.

No visible levels on the aux track and even the lights and switches on the wrapped VST interface don't seem to be working.

Argh.

I'm getting seriously annoyed now! No matter what I do, I simply cannot get sound out of a MIDI track. Plug-ins, both wrapped VSTs and RTAS, are doing nothing. I'm following every instruction to a tee... and nothing!

Has anyone had a similar problem before?
