It is good news indeed, but I think I'll be waiting a while as my iMac is performing quite well and I'm not in a position to want/need PTHD.

I would very much take that with a grain of salt. There are been at least two other occasions when they have claimed the imminent release of new Mac Pros.

I for one am hoping too. But I'm not holding my breath.

Oh for sure, but this is far beyond a rumour. Confirmed model numbers and pricing is a pretty good indication. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't true.

Well, if they're following the trend of core multiplying, we might see a 16-core beast (or possibly even 20, since the E7 Xeon goes up to 10-cores per die) machine around that price. The current 12-core isn't far off from that.
