Default Drum mixing help please!

Hi,
I am mixing some drums and have a problem with my snare, it keeps peeking and clipping even when i turn the volume right off to below -90 as it's getting picked up from the other mics on the kit. I have put a gate on the kick drum and has helped a little but is still happening, should i gate the other mics (ie, high hat/toms) as a solution?

Solo the toms and manually edit between hits. Put a fade out on each hit. Gates never quite get it perfect. The edited tom tracks may sound strange when soloed, but when you add the OH mics, they'll sound fine. Hope this helps !!!

Stick a Trim plug on it and -5 or so...or I dunno. That won't help the bleeding from other mics but it should help that channel from clipping. YMMV.
