Are you working for Steinberg or Apple?

Re: Why do you use PT?
We know what you're up to. The Avid mafia are surrounding your mom's basement and are going to confiscate your mbox if you don't run for the border.

Re: Why do you use PT?
I work for Satan. Does that count?
Seriously, I've used Reaper, Sonar, Nuendo, Cubase, and PT. I keep coming back to PT. It is Intuitive and clean. I don't need unlimited plugin chaining or customizable key mapping. I just need a clean and straight forward DAW. For me that is PT. NO MATTER THE PRICE!

Re: Why do you use PT?
I'm amazed that in all the discussions here about DAWs, it's rarely mentioned - PT's sounds better - and after all that's THE most important thing
Oh.... I moved from Logic & PT's to my ears is more 'solid', 3d, deeper & wider, and the final bounces sound like the timeline Last edited by JKR; 11-11-2011 at 01:50 PM. Reason: moved from.... |

Re: Why do you use PT?
Nah, I've been using PT LE 6 7 8 9 but since I have Logic 9 I tested it out and got better sound in my mixes. PT and Logic don't sound any different to my ears. Just playing raw tracks. Why I got better results in Logic may have to do with what plugins was used, different workflow, I don't really know. Bounce faster than realtime, freeze, track presets etc is things I appreciate to.
If PT had those things I would switch back in a blink. I like the workflow in PT but really don't think it sounds better.

Think of all the limitations of four track. Yet, an extremely talented group of people made Sgt. Pepper! Also, I know guys using Motif's with a 128 polyphony limit that produce better tracks than some with Logic having a plethora of MIDI features. The features that LE lacks does not make it incapable of making professional music for someone who knows how to do so. |

I started on Logic, then Cubase. Shortly after, I took several production and mixing courses that used PT. I've been hooked ever since. |
