Default Pro Tools HD 2018.1 - Preferences & I/o VERY slow to close

Hey Duckies-

Just upgraded everything, and I mean EVERYTHING.

Now on PCIe HD Native Core, running 2018.1 HD. When I try to close Preferences and I/O, the beach ball appears and spins for a good few minutes. Left alone, the windows do close, and Pro Tools moves forward appropriately, but the lag is MASSIVE. Literally 3-4 minutes to close. Closing the session also gives the same problem, very long time to close down.

I thought it might be something about scanning hard drives? I have about 20 TB of storage connected (Sample Library, Session Drive, Archive), so I thought it might be a "workspace" issue, but it seems "workspaces" isn't what it used to be on PT 10 and below. I remember you used to be able to tell pro Tools to ignore certain hard drives in Workspace... but it seems I can't do that now as it uses Journaled Spotlight?

If anyone knows why it's lagging so hard, I would be very appreciative.

Thank yoU!!!!

Doc

Do you see the spinning green wheel under the counter (ie, task manager operations happening)?

Ergo, troubleshooting will be massively more difficult, no?

Sorry for being negative, but it's an instinct I have with PT that I change things one at a time, try it out, and always have a disk image for retreat. Treat her like a diva.

I have both a Time machine Backup, and a complete disc image of my previous drive. All upgrades were made one day at a time, this has been a two week process of installing new drives and verifying data. It's not my first rodeo.

I will make a point to watch for that.
