Issue:
Updated to LE 6.4 Attempted to update firmware on my digi002 8 mins into update, got "no hareware detected" message --firmware update error ... this can't be good!-- I rebooted my system*. It worked inconsistantly the first day or so. Now (3 days later) no responce from 02. Just getting a clicking sound. The "LINK" light on the back of the 02 is blinking in sync w/ clicking. I tried reloading the firmware from the original program disk, but same message. "no hardware detected" Not sure what to do ... any help would be appreciated. *G4 dual 1.23 running OSX 10.3.9 |

See if these help...

I've done some research and it appears that the problem might be the "power harness". I have read several accounts of situations much like mine. The clicking, connection loss ... etc. Individuals have recieved a replacement w/ instructions.
My 002 had to have been on the of first off the line ... I ordered it from Sweetwater the same week they got their first batch in stock. The only problems I've had w/ it to date were self inflected! I have called 650-730-6100 and got the recording ... It sounds like I'm past my warrenty. Is there anything I can do? Hoping so ... Any advice is really appreciated. |

If you are experiencing the power harness issue, it will still be covered out of warranty. You will need to contact Digidesign Tech Support at 650.731.6100.

I did indeed call and should have a new power supply and power harness by day's end on Wednesday. I appreciate the fact that digidesign seem to really be listening to the user community ... supporting us. Thank you.

In the meantime, you can open up your unit and wiggle the power harness connections. It is the bundle of wires that connect between different boards and components in the system. wiggle each end and connector point. I did this and everything works again. Give it a try since you'll need to open up your unit anyways to install the power harness when it arrives.
