Audio Midi Setup Nightmare...
Can someone help?
I upgraded from a AM III card to the Mbox and everything seems to be fine when running PT. In fact I can see the Mbox setting from within the Hardware setting. My problem is when I open up the Audio Midi Setup, the AM III is still highlighted and no show of an Mbox. I've taken the AM III card out of the system. Any clues? Thanks, Chris |

Re: Audio Midi Setup Nightmare...
What OS? What PT Version? Did you install the software for Mbox or are you still trying to use your PT and CoreAudio for AMIII? What is it exactly you're trying to accomplish in AM Setup anyway?

Re: Audio Midi Setup Nightmare...
Hey Slim,
I'm running 10.3.3 and PT 6.2.3 and I re-installed the software for the Mbox. What I'm trying to accomplish is having to use the Mbox as my computers default and system output rather than Mac's Built-In audio. The problem is when I open the Audio Midi Setup, it still sees the old confiuration of AM III and the card no longer exists in my system. Should the Mbox be visual as an option settingin the Audio Midi setup (System Settings, Properties For, Default & System Output)? Thanks again, Chris |

Re: Audio Midi Setup Nightmare...
Well, you can click on the AMlll icon and hit delete. Then, make sure that the Mbox is connected and hit the Rescan button. If the Mbox still does not show up. Try restarting with the Mbox already plugged in. If still a no go, you may need to reinstall LE. When you install LE for the first time, it is important that you tell it which hardware interface it will be using so it can load the correct drivers to be recognized. (the interfaces will appear as options during the installation process and you need to make sure “Mbox” is selected)

Re: Audio Midi Setup Nightmare...
Try deleting the entire AMS configuration:
Open Audio MIDI Setup. Click MIDI Dvices. Click the pulldown menu to the top left with the configuration names and select "Edit Configurations...". Select the current configuration you're using and click "Delete". Click "Done". Click the "Rescan MIDI..." option. Add your other devices (if any). That should be it. If not, you should try uninstalling PT and installing again. --- c
