Default Problems with sound leaking on Mbox2 Pro on my Genelec 8040A monitor speakers

Hello.

I just bought a couple of Genelec 8040A monitor speakers for my Mbox2 Pro. I connect them with balanced XLR cables directly to the Mon Out on Mbox2 Pro.

The problem is that even when I turn the monitor knob in front of the Mbox2 Pro panel to "zero" I still here music coming out of the speakers (leaking).

I unfortunately tried to connect the speakers to the line out of the Mbox2 Pro, to test if it also happens there. This is something I wount do again! I nearly lost my hearing and destroyd the speakers of the shocking loud sound that came out when I started playback.

Anybody else have this problem that Mbox2 Pro is leaking when connected to monitor speakers ?

My system is :

IMAC 20"
2.1GHz Intel CPU
2 GB RAM
250GB HD
OSX 10.4.9
ProTools LE 7.4cs5

Cant get the Mbox2 Pro to be completly quiet when I turn down the Monitor knob all the way down. I have tried it with ProTools LE and Itunes, + Firefox. I hear a low sound.

According to the user manual, there is a sensitivity adjustment on the back of the monitor. Maybe turning it down would help.

Thanks for the suggestion, but Iv tried that already. The volume gets lower but I can still here sound leaking from the mbox2 pro.

Im going to bring it back to my musicstore where I bought it so they can test it.

OK. But I record vocals and acoustic guitars and dont have a seperate recording room, so I dont want to live with this if there is a fix. I dont think it is healthy for my genelecs to power them on/off every time I need to record.
