Windows Xp Prox64 - compatible?

on the compatilbility list for PTLE on an mbox 2
it says windows VISTA 64 bit is not supported, but nothing about Xp prox64

a search revealed that PTLE is not supported on xp Prox64 although those threads were 2 years old

can anybody clear this up?

AFAIK, no version of Protools runs on any 64 bit OS.

Vista 64 is not supported, but Pro Tools can work on this OS. I have Vista Ultimate 64, and PT working fine for me.
So you can try to install PT on xp 64, but with no guarantee :)

On the current compatibility pages for the MBox 2, it states very clearly;

• Not Supported:
  • Windows Vista 64-bit (any version)
  • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
  • Windows XP Media Center Edition
  • Windows 98, Me, 2000, NT, 95, 3.1, DOS

If the current version of PT is not compatible with XPx64, it is reasonable to assume that earlier versions would also be not compatible.

This is pretty catastrophic imo. With all of the possibilities that exist with loading up your PC with gobs of RAM these days, you just can't do it since Digidesign is behind the times . .
