Default The ridiculous getting started procedure for the new iPad app

Avid, what is wrong with you people? You are forcing users to register an avid account just to start using the new iPad app. And it requires a strong password with capital letters and symbols. Get real with this nonsense, it's a music control surface tool and it has no secrets.

And then you are requiring people to fill out a 3 page registration survey with questions like "what is your experience level" and "how many hours per week do you use avid products?"

GTFO with this stupid pile of marketing horse crap. Get out of our way.

Hey Robertg,
The Avid account would be your standard Avid login if you already have an Avid ID. The questions help us understand who you are and how you work.

If we have 80% of users are beginners vs 20% who are pro for example, we get a good idea of which features we should focus on first.

We should not need IDs at all to use a simple remote control app.

You can do your market research plenty of other ways without annoying the pro users.
