Default midi shortcut keys not working

Hi-
According to the article
http://www.avidblogs.com/pro-tools-2018-1-midi/
I should be able to select midi notes in the midi editor now and move them up and down with the up/down arrow, and by octave with Shift + up/down arrows, but this does not work for me. I can sometimes move it up an octave, but then not down, and sometimes the up arrow will move it down almost an octave but not quite.
Please help!

I'm on mac os 10.12.6, pro tools 2018.

Some people are finding that they have to click somewhere in the MIDI edit window in order for the new keyboard shortcuts to work. Could that be it?

From what I can tell, the shortcuts seem to be affected by the settings in the events operation window.

For example....if you have transpose set to "up an octave" set in events operation window. But then try to transpose down an octave using a keyboard shortcut. Nothing happens.

Or... if you had the events operation window set to "- two half steps", and then tried to transpose down an octave using a keyboard shortcut. It would transpose downward 14 half steps. (adding the setting of the events operation window)

Frustrating that it doesn't operate as intended in spite of those settings.

I'm also having this issue! None of the midi keyboard commands/shortcuts that are described are working. Not up/down arrow to move audio up or down, not tab/opt tab to move a note left or right, etc. etc. Not in edit window or midi editor. Any thoughts?

Ok, I could be wrong but I would guess that what some of us might be doing is consulting out of date resources online. I checked the 12.8.2 manual (duh) and the instructions on how to move individual notes work perfectly.
