You read it, you are impressed but there are lots of unmentioned tweaks. What do you mean by that? Color me confused?

The one that hit me the most, was that PT9 ADC will compensate for Hardware I/O. That's huge.

It could do that before. I send stuff to my RE 201 and guitar pedals and it works great and that was in 8

PT8 didn't have ADC, you had latency my friend, maybe you could not hear it, but you had it.

I think you are thinking of LE. I am talking about HD. My original Question was why would a HD user upgrade. All the new features are new to LE Users. We are in a HD forum not LE

I understand where your coming from. I'm kind of in the same boat. There just isn't that much for Pro Tools HD users this time around. I too was really hoping to see some new features. But I guess I'll just be that much more excited next year, or in two years when they release Pro Tools 10.

The features I see as an advantage for somebody like me is:

mp3 export
OMF files (except I own the Digitranslator....Anyone want to buy it for $350 )
The ability to use my control surface (HUI based) to control more parameters that previously required a Digi control surface.
The ability to take my license to any Pro Tools 9 computer and use my ilok to unlock HD features. (ASIO options)
Double Midi tracks, Double Busses
Variable Stereo Pan Depths including better 7.1 surround panner
Key command for new playlist, duplicate playlist.

$350 worth it? Not sure yet. If our school upgrades to Pro Tools 9, then it might be worth it so that I can unlock the HD features when I am at the school.

For the first time ever since Digi/Avid released a major upgrade I did not find one single thing that made me happy.

I've always installed the releases asap, but in this case, I think I rather stick with my functional system where I'm already introduced to the existing bugs instead of installing 9 and trying to find the new ones...

So, so, so dissappointed...
