I upgraded to PT 7.3.1 and applied all the patches, etc. I also downloaded the 7.3 Documentation zip file and extracted it. When I launch PT and then click "Help" in the action bar, the only thing active in the drop down menu is "About Protools". All the other help options are disabled. What's up with that?
I can search my drive and find the PDF files but I would have thought they'd be tied to the PT software help screens somehow vs. me just sorting through the files based on the doc titles in hopes of finding what I need. Is this how it works or did I just screw it up on the install? I installed it twice (no fun) and had the same results both times. Suggestions? |

It is a known bug. Access you docs and manuals via the windows start menu.
Start - All Programs - Digidesign - Documentation - Select the specific PDF file you want.

This also happened to me when I first installed PT M-Powered 7.1 and then again when I upgraded to PT 7.3 and applied the 7.3.1 update. I also thought there was something wrong with my install. Maybe I missed something online. Does anyone know if there is someplace that lists the known bugs?
Anyway, it would be very convenient to have the Help selections working. I wonder if Digidesign is working on a fix for this in a future update? Thanks much, Obsidian Dragon, for the info. |
