Default Session work dissapears

Ok im scratching my head here on what the heck just happened.

I had been working on a vocal. Tracked it, Comped it. Then tuned in melodyne. I printed the vocal thru my compressor. Saving tons of times.

I import session data from another session to get some drum settings to track with.

HD 11.2 freezes and gives me the pinwheel. I force quit and reboot the computer.

Load up protools and go to open the session. All the Session backup files are gone. My bounced file folder with all my tuned vocals is gone and its reverted me to 3 pm as my last save. I know for a fact i saved and saved and saved. Plus this thing is set to auto backup every five minutes. Nothing from 3pm on. Over 2 hours of lost work on vocals.

Im seriously thinking 11.2 has some major issues here. I have never seen this before. Never seen a session make files dissapear.

You didn't force shutdown the computer? No files in the Trash? I only recall something similar happening once. I do not recall finding a cause or a desirable outcome. This was not with v11.2.

No just a force quit. It happened when importing session data from another session for drum settings.

Upon reboot all session backups where gone up to 3pm. I checked them before i force quit and they were ones from after 5pm. I had been saving the whole time and my main session file was reverted to an earlier file.

All melodyne files dissapeared in the session folder, Bounced files were gone with my tuned vocals in them. Plus all the guitar prints I had bounced.

This is on 11.2

Might want to look into it. Huge bug or im just unlucky today.

Did the restart take longer than usual? Maybe the OS ran Disk Utility's verify disk command during startup, found some problems, corrected them, and the side effect was the removal of your files? There is no way to prove this without a file recovery utility such as Data Rescue 3.

That's unfortunate. I can't help you get them back. You have to decide if you want to do the work again or use a data recovery program to scour your hard drive in the hopes of finding these files.

The only remedy was to just redo the work. Oh well. I have just never seen protools do this before.
