Default boxy sound

what sounded good through the monitors sounds hollow or boxy in home stereo---is there a specific master eq problem here???

do you have a lot of stereo sounds? Could be a phase problem, where if things collapse into mono, things disappear. Did you listen to your mix in Mono?

Another weird thing - are your stereo speakers correctly wired and in phase? I've had problems when speakers were wired out of phase with each other.

How many tracks?

Phase ok on spks---really only happens on mega mixes--mostly heavy rock where every player wants to be out front---drummer didnt like his snare sound and I added a little d-verb and it got [bleep]---tried some real-verb and eq and got better but still the whole mix seems hollow---

do you have a website with the song for people to download and listen to? May be helpful to pinpoint the sounds.

How much reverb do you have going on - wash, or light?
