Default Plugin issue with PT11

Brand new install of Windows 7 64 bit.

Machine specs here- http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/rec...-computer.html

Installed, Omnisphere, Trillian, Stylus, All Izotope Products, Waves Mercury and Superior Drummer, everything is running smooth.

Ran a big session, opens great, plays great. All the existing tracks insert settings pull up as they should, but when I add a new plugin the window goes white and the plugin will not load. I've attached a screenshot. Thanks for any help in advance!

I'm sure you will get more/better answers but in the meantime ... sounds like you may be at the limit as far as resources. You only have 8gb of ram. Open the project and check your performance tab in task manager as well as the PT CPU usage meter.

Check the articles below for some performance tips.

I feel ya, RAM has NEVER jumped above 3 gigs of use, PT11 should allocate all 8gb's to PT.

I really think my problem is the fact that I don't have a dedicated graphics card. Can anyone recommend me a dedicated graphics card for my system?

Nope that is not correct. PT 11 uses the total amount minus 3 GB so if you have 8GB PT 11 will only see 5GB just so you know. Try setting the amount manually and you see that there are only 5GB maximum.

That is how I got it explanined here on the forum
Best

So you think it's best to increase my amount of RAM?

Can you please post a sandra report? you can find the link in the Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting! link on the top of the forum. Also have you done all the optimization for windows 7? You can also find the link to the optimization in the Help us Help You -READ THIS Before Posting! link at the top of the forum.

The Sandra will tell us in greater details what you have as hardware installed.

But right from the bat, Get a dedicated video Card, and if you are relying heavily on Virtual Instruments, I would suggest you get more RAM. 16 Gig is good, but 32 Gig is much better if you do a lot of VI work.

Absolutely I can definitely get that Sandra to you tomorrow when I've got free time, I have done all the optimizations on my last install of windows, that actually made my machine feel much more buggy. I've reinstalled windows and just PT11 and my VI's. Working much better that way at least for now.

Just post it in this thread, and we'll all take a look at it and give you pointers if we find the problems.
