routing a cue out
I have a small 4-channel headphone amp that connects to my Digi02 rack's "alt main outputs". If you have a Digi02, you know these are rca connectors. I use this output ONLY because the hard-wired cable from the headphone amp ends in two rca jacks.
Today i wanted to use my headphones to monitor just one specific vocal track, while the main speakers played the other 8 tracks. I couldn't figure it out. It makes me wonder if i can even do this while the headphone amp is connected to these alt main outs, since after all, they are still "main outs". Any ideas? |

Re: routing a cue out
That's the key right there. Those RCA outs are outputting a mirror copy of your main out 1-2, just at a -10 level. To do what you are looking to do, you would need to connect the headphone amp to 1 or 2 of the other independent outs of the 002 (e.g. Out 3-4) and assign an aux send on the vocal track you want to monitor to that output. If your headphone amp only has RCA inputs than you would obviously need to use adapters to get from the 002 1/4" outs to RCA. Hope that makes sense.
