Default Waveform Size

Dear friends.

I am having problems with the size of the waveforms when recording. Basically, the input levels are correctly set, the channel meter's are safely indicating between -9db to -6db yet the visual waveform on the recorded clips are massive. To the point that one would assume that they are clipping. On play back the sound is fine. I would like to stress that it is not a zooming issue as suggested on other threads. I have tried this and even as far as I can zoom out the problem remains. Many thanks.

Zooming in and out doesn't change the height of the waveform.

On Windows, Alt+Shift+Scroll will lower or raise the height of the waveform. On OS X, I believe it's Option+Shift+Scroll.

There's also a little button with a wave on it usually near the top left side of the screen. If you press the bottom, it makes the wave smaller and vice versa.

Option-A (or double clicking the Magnifying Glass tool) will reset both vertical and horizontal waveform views.

One more useful keyboard shortcut; ctrl+alt+cmd+[ to reset all to (vertical) default size.
