Default Finally Getting An Eleven Rack!

Finally Getting An Eleven Rack! Very excited. Have used one before and was very impressed.
I have a few questions about starting out on the right foot.
I am currently running PT 11.1.2 my interface is an MBox Pro 3.

First question.
How do I use the 11rack with the Mbox?
Or do I have to choose the 11rack by itself to run the session?
What us proper protocol for this situation?

Second question. Running 11rack in PT11 it appears that I have to use the standalone editor. Do I start PT first then the Editor does it matter?

Thank you
Philip

You can use the MBox 3 as the main interface if you want and run the 11R via SPDIF.

I have tons of info about this on my 11R blog site or Youtube channel linked in my sig.

However, before you do that, spend a couple days using just the 11R as your interface. That will give you time to get the feel for the 11R itself and how it plays with Pro Tools one on one.

You CAN (meaning, its possible) launch the Standalone Editor before PT is open, but I usually like to open PT first, then the Editor. But its not a big deal either way.

Default Re: Finally Getting An Eleven Rack!

Thanks your videos have help very much.

I am running Pro Tools 11.1.2.

Eleven Rack connected to the MBox Pro 3 via S/PDIF In and Out.

in Setup > Playback Engine I show MBox Pro and Eleven Rack.
I have MBox Pro as my Playback Engine.

In Setup > Hardware under Peripherals MBox Pro only shows up not the Eleven Rack.
Is this Normal for PT 11?

In Setup > I/O under The Input Tab. In The Embed Eleven Settings From: Drop Down I have S/PDIF LEFT-RIGHT selected.
It was the only one that would allow audio to pass through my MBox Pro 3 and to my monitors.
There are no options for any thing that is related to the Eleven Rack in that section.

On the Eleven Rack Editor under User Options I have Outputs Digital selected for Rig Outputs.

There is no Clock Source selection in the Editor.

So in the Eleven Rack Control Panel I select S/PDIF as the clock source there.

So with these setup parameters I get sound in to and out of pro tools.

I am able to record tracks.

My concern is that in the Hardware section Eleven Rack does not show up.
Also under I/O In The Embed Eleven Settings From: Drop Down I am not giving the option for Eleven Rack.

On the Track I/O Section I do get this Symbol.

Also After I record a track I do not get the Embedded symbol on my Clip.
Or is this the Symbol?

Thoughts?

Thank you

The symbol at top right of clip that looks like an "E' indicates embedded settings are present. To test it, change the patch currently displayed on the 11R then right click on the clip and look in the drop down menu and you should see an option to use embedded settings. Click that option and your 11R patch setting should change accordingly.
