Default 2nd monitor conclusion....

Hi all!

I have read all the recent posts on dual monitors but just want a final debate before i buy one.

I have:
450 MHz dual processor Mac
OS 9.04
Digi 001 running PT5.1.1
adaptec SCSI 2906 card.

What is the final verdict for running a second monitor. I need a cheap reliable way to use 1 for mixing, 1 for editing.
Are the radeons the best bet?

Thanks in advance!

Horne

DH max card by promax, only major problem is it "doesn't work well" according to Promax tech support., if you intend on "stretching" one window across both monitors. But edit on one, mix on another, no problem!!!!!!

And goes in the agp slot leaving your pci slots free......

Thanks!

Has anyone tried the voodoo 5500?
I know it is a PCI slot, but some people have been recommending them.

i have a voodoo 3000 pci and it works fine.
sometimes it looks like the screen of the
voodoo is faster than the ati, but i'm not
sure.
i had to swap the flashrom of the pc voodoo
to mac format, but with little computer
experience that should not be too hard.
(at that time you could only do that with a
voodoo 3000, so i don'y know about the 5500)
