Default DigiCS: PT6 Plugin on fly bug report

PT6 MIx plus on OSX 10.2.3
G4-400 256 meg ram

When instantiating a mono plug on the fly, stereo track will go wildly out of phase. Playback must be stopped for this to be corrected. For instance: I can solo stereo track of overheads and put a plugin on the snare track(not soloed) on the fly....the overheads phase will shift radically. I hit the space bar twice to stop and restart...everything is fine again.

Kevin,

Have you tried this in 6.01? Does the problem persist?

Mike

At AES the Digi demo dude even said that feature will not work properly when using any PI to change from a mono track toa stereo track.

Right...but I'm not changin a mono track to a stereo with the plug. PT tells you it has to stop when you do that. If you insert a mono plug on a mono track on the fly- then any stereo track playing becomes radically out of phase with itself. Makes on the fly useless when all of a sudden stereo tracks get all screwy. You have to stop and restart.

I believe the problem occurs only with Mix systems. Unfortunately, I don't believe it can be fixed - it's a limitation of the hardware, which was designed long before on-the-fly plug ins came along.
