Default System Preferences Shows MBox2 and MBox2 Pro

Hi. I have a MBox2, but when I go to System Preferences, under "Other" it shows icons for the MBox2, which I have, and the MBox2 Pro, which I don't have.. Everything is working fine, but I don't understand why the MBox2 Pro icon is showing. Is this a glitch? Anyone else have this problem? Like I said before, everything is working fine, there's just that MBox2 Pro icon under System Preferences. Anyways to remove this icon, or should I just keep things the way they are since the extra icon isn't causing any problems?

Thanks,
-Adam

That is normal. No worries. I have an MBox 2 Pro and both of those preference panes show up on mine as well. There's actually a simple way to keep unused preference panes from appearing, but I wouldn't recommend it. Just leave as is and all will be fine.

It won't hurt anything to leave it, but you can remove Mbox 2 Pro preference pane without causing any problem. You can use the instructions listed on the Coreaudio page....
Quote:
Mbox 2-Series CoreAudio Drivers
The Mbox 2 Pro, Mbox 2, and Mbox 2 Mini audio interfaces do not use the Digidesign CoreAudio Manager. Instead these devices are configured using the "Audio MIDI Setup" application in your Applications/Utilities folder, and the "Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro" or "Digidesign Mbox 2" (for Mbox 2 and Mbox 2 Mini) preference panes in your System Preferences. If you do not use an Mbox 2 Family interface on your Mac, you can safely delete the Mbox 2 or Mbox 2 Pro preference pane by right-clicking or Control-clicking on the icon, and choosing "Remove....Preference Pane".
