Default Structure 1.0 sample playback in PTHD 11.0.1

I bought the original Structure 1.0 box-set that included the Goliath samples and also a subset of East-West Quantum Leap orchestra.

I received a free update to Structure 1.1 after I activated 1.0, but still have it sitting in my Ilok account unused because 1.1 is Intel only (I have both a G5 and a Nehalem Mac Pro).

My understanding was the East-West samples would still work if I upgraded Structure to 1.1.

Two years ago, I had loaded the East-West orchestra samples for Structure 1.0 into a MIDI file of Mozart's Symphony 41. This was on a early 2009 Nehalem Quad-core 2.6 with 8GB, and I had originally installed PT LE 8.05 and an early release Eleven Rack (still has the 1.x firmware). It was running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and using about 65% CPU power per PT's system meter during playback.

Just updated the OS to ML 10.8.4, loaded the latest 11R driver along with the HD driver and both PTHD 10.3.7 and PTHD 11.0.1. I cloned the drive and ran the PT LE8.05 "uninstall" but did not change any of the Structure 1.0 application or content files. Then I installed ML 10.8.4 on top of the cloned drive. Then I installed the the 11R latest driver and the 11HD driver. I installed 11HD before 10.3.7HD and had an issue with the drive locations for the AIR content and AIR instruments. After I installed 10.3.7 HD I reinstalled the AIR stuff.

The Mozart movement loaded into 10.3.7 (I have the PTHD 11 license bundle on an Ilok 2 and the Structure 1.0 license and content license on an Ilok 1, in case that is important). However, I had to add instrument tracks for each of the MIDI tracks in the arrange window. I then inserted the 10.3.7 Structure instrument (from the East-West Quantum Leap subset) in each of the instrument tracks, and copied the MIDI track data over to the instrument tracks. I did not upgrade the Ilok license to 1.1 and I did not reinstall Structure (or change the content locations for the Structure samples). The movement played back, with CPU usage of 15 to 25% and memory usage of 30-39 percent.

Saved the file, closed PTHD 10.3.7 and started PTHD 11.0.1. Received error messages saying I could only have four instances of Structure Free. Clicked OK and let it continue to load. Played back fine, with 28 instantiations of Structure Free.

If I clicked on the Structure Free inserts, it did not show any of the East West Quantum Leap instruments available for selection, but it showed the correct instrument loaded -- along with a very Windows-like-device-list-error yellow exclamation point: [!]

So it appears the East-West Quantum Leap samples will load while in PTHD 10.3.7 (they may be selected there) and even play back in PTHD 11.0.1. In the insert selection popup (while in 10.3.7), it just indicates "Structure" and in the Structure popup, it says "Native." In 11.0.1HD, the insert shows StrFree.

I left a message for Mozart, but he never returned my call.

Default Re: Structure 1.0 sample playback in PTHD 11.0.1

Not sure if they are relevant, but there were a lot of threads about the yellow gui in structure a few years ago, around the time pt8 was introduced if I remember correctly.

Here's a recent thread that might be helpful:
