Default Opinions on meters for post please....

Hello all,
We will be in the market for new meters soon and wanted to get your opinons. We have digital Dorroughs and Coleman VUs for our existing rooms. Anyone have any word on the Logiteks or any other brands? What do you guys use for surround meters?
Thanks,
T.J.

I'll go with dr sound on this one and vote for the Dorroughs. They are considered the standard and although not cheap, the DK meters are much more expensive (but more flexible). Howerver, I would recommend that you get a model with Dorroughs' "C" scale. The meters on dr sound's link only come in the "A" scale and only indicate up to +14db. That's fine if you're only mixing for broadcast and such where anything over +11 is not acceptable, but if you're doing film or DVD work they aren't very useful. The "C" scale meters read full digital scale up to +20db. I use the Model 40-C2's.

Filmixer,
I thought I had put a link to the "C" version which I have with the +20 scale
Here is a link to their versions:

Thanks for the catch!

As another option I saw some meters from Ward-Beck Systems at AES that looked very nice. Not as expensive as some and very flexible in configuration. They also said that they can program the meters to work just about any way you want them to since they are DSP based.
