192 I/O line level or mic level inputs?
I am using some outboard gear hooked up through 1/4" patchbays. I sometimes route as a hardware insert in PT. Sometimes I'll use something between pre and converters. The 192 output of pro tools (db25 -> 1/4" patchbay) and 192 input (1/4" -> db25 from patchbay). I am connecting to outboard (EQs/compressors) from patchbay using 1/4" -> xlr (inputs of outboard), and coming back from outboard outputs xlr ->1/4" patchbay. Does this make sense?
I just read info on Warm Audio's website stating that coming from WA2A leveling amplifier should output 1/4" line level to interface. Am I accomplishing that the way I am using it in my studio? I haven't run into any problems, but fundamentally, am I screwing up? Thanks for any help!

Re: 192 I/O line level or mic level inputs?
192 is line level.
Mic level would be way, way lower. For the 192, you still have options for input levels (+4 or -10), but the output is fixed at +4. And you really should use the input as +4 to keep the gain staging consistent.

Re: 192 I/O line level or mic level inputs?
AFAIK, the WA2A ins and outs(both XLR and TRS) are the same line level so you can use either connection to suit your cables. In any case, the 192 is a line level unit(except for the 192 DIGITAL)
