Default Rewire and instruments track in PT 7.4.2

Hi,

When i create an instrument track and assign a rewire instrument and select the proper midi instruments, the track stays grey - like its not assigned. Under Tiger it would go "light up" when you assigned a midi to it.
All the midi instruments from reason are being showed in the selection, but its like midi never reaches reason.

Anybody have that fault to ?

Gonna search propellerheads forum and see if there's an update for reason fixing rewire with leopard or something...

Best regards

Mac OS X 10.5.2
PT 7.4.1
Reason 4

What about moving to the qualified spec of PT7.4.2 and Mac OS 10.5.3?

Is the track possibly disabled/deactivated?

Hi Digi,

No the track is not disabled/deactivated. I have investigated a bit more.

I create a new session. Create a new instruments track and insert the reason plugin. reason pops up.
Create a instrument in reason and setup the audio and midi routing in pro tools.

When i play my midi keyboard - pro tools sends midi to reason and reason sends sound back. So far, so good.
I record enable the track and hit record. Play some notes and sound still comes back, but the midi part is grey. Like
its muted.

I created a midi track and recorded some notes on that and they came back "blue", not grey. I moved them to the
instruments track and that midi part turned grey.

Am i missing something ?

Do you have "MIDI out" in PT assigned to the correct instrument in Reason?

Yes, triple and double checked that a 1000 times
Routing is setup exactly as i did in previous versions of PT, under Tiger.

Even tried the "old way" of using midi tracks and aux tracks, still no sound comes back from reason during playback.

Are you able to set up Instrument tracks with other soft synths or is this just Reason related? Are you getting any error messages? Check you have the latest version of ReWire. Use Tech utility to trash prefs and databases.

Only rewire is giving me this fault. No error messages at any point.

I did use rewire with logic pro 8 yesterday, so the fault is somehow specific to PT 7.4.2
Out of curiosity: is anybody able to use Reason 4 with PT 7.4.2 ?

Already trash prefs. and so no, but im gonna try to use the tech utility tonight.

I reinstalled PT and Reason (in that order, do not know if that matters) and everything is now running fine.

Best regards
