Default Should I go from El Cap to Sierra? [solved]

HI gang. I'm on a late-2011 MBP 13" that I've stuck some more RAM into (now has 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3), El Cap 10.11.6, 2.4GHz Intel Core i5.

And I'm on ProTools 12.5.2.511.

Interface is a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, which I run a Presonus Digimax D8 into to give me 8 more channels, via optical, if it matters.

Would upgrading the OS X to Sierra help me or hurt me? I feel like my computer might work better with the newer OS, and might be better for Final Cut Pro X. But if it's gonna screw PT I won't do it!
Thanks! J

I'm on an early 2011 MBP with 16GB RAM and SSD system drive on 10.12.4 and have had no issues. Most people seem to think Pro Tools runs better on Sierra. I'm not sure what the latest officially supported version is, but it's all good for me.

Actually, now that I look at that chart, I see Sierra is not added until 12.6. I'm on 12.5.2.511. This won't be a problem? or am I reading the chart wrong?

I'm on 12.5 (a little bit behind the original poster) Do you guys recommend me to upgrade to Sierra as well?

For what I've seen, Sierra is much better than ElCrap in every way. Support documents though should be your first guideline, not recommendations.
