Default Click Track Issues

I'm new to Pro-Tools and am getting to use M-Powered 7.1 that I purchased two years ago. I cannot seem to create a click track sucessfully. The only way I can hear a click at all is through my PC speakers, not routed through my Delta 1010 like I would like for monitoring. A friend of mine told me to go to the "Track" menu and select "Create Click Track" but I do not have this option. Even my user manual seems to reference features I do not have as it shows a picture of the transport window with a metronome on the right side of it. Mine does not have that. Am I missing a plug-in or something? This shouldn't be this hard....

This feature was not added until version 7.3. (your friend must be using a newer version )

If you want the "Create Click Track" feature, you would need to upgrade, however, it is not really necessary since you can do it manually; just create a mono aux track and insert the click plugin.

No, you're missing an instruction from the user manual...

The MIDI controls of the transport window are "hide-able". To view them, select View > Transport > MIDI Controls. This information is on page 28 of the Pro Tools Reference Guide for your version.

You might want to give it a more thorough read.
