Default I'm thinking of setting up an HD Accel rig

I'm thinking of setting up an additional Powermac G5 + HD3 Accel rig.
They can be had for very little money these days.
Are still some of you using this equipment?
Do you get any reliability problems?

Why go back that far? Buy a 1.1 Mac Pro for $150 and HD2 for $425, HD8 for $150

If you go the Mac Pro 1.1, know you can also upgrade it to an 8 core, taking its GB scores to around 11,000. The cost is less than $150, or at least it was back when I did it, before buying a 4.1 and upgrading it to a 5.1 12 core.....

Coincidentally I'm buying a Mac Pro which has been modified this way! :)
Thanks!

Last thing I need to complete my cheap HD Accel rig is Digidesign 96 interface. :)

Why not make it a 2012 Mac Pro or even a 2010 and put PCIE TDM cards in there.

That would be very little more money but would take you further.

And the PCIE cards have more DSP than the older PCI-X's

I already purchased a Mac Pro 2,1 and an HD5 Accel in a Magma box.
I'm only missing Digi 96 interface now.

The difference in price between a 96 I/O and a 192 I:O is small, but the gain of a 192 over a 96 is substantial!!!!!!

SUBSTANTIAL !!!!!!!!!!
