No, no, no.... No new features - let's optimize further Avid, I know you can do that. Last 6 months was a step in the right direction, let's continue....and fix the MIDI bugs for example...

So... I went ahead and backed upp the system drive and did a "dirty" update from HS 10.13.6 to MO 10.14.5 with the current installer from app store yesterday.

I have been working all day with just 3 hiccups, ie sudden stops and 4 digit error messages. I was taxing the cpu total by just around 3 percent. So, performance is still not perfect... But a lot better. Snappier. Does not crash on quit. Will accept smaller buffer sizes with less problems it seems.

So far I would say Mojave is quite a bit better than HS.

so you did update the os, what about the Pro Tools version? What version were you using on 10.13 and on 10.14?

2019 .5 on both. Everything else is equal, except the OS. Seeing as the thread is about this.

Default MacOS update 10.14.5

Has anyone updated to the latest minor point update for Mojave and experienced any issues? In particular this:
• Improves audio latency on MacBook Pro models introduced in 2018

Thanks

I updated to Mojave 10.14.5 as soon as my machine informed me about the update. I updated PT 2019.5 as soon as that became available too. I just fired up Pro Tools this morning and now I'm back to seeing the stupid OS X message that says, "Pro Tools" is not optimized for your Mac and needs to be updated.

I thought 2019.5 HAD Mojave compatibility. Anyone else still seeing the "needs to be updated" message with 2019.5 and Mojave 10.14.5?

I just read in another thread that it's probably the PT QuickTime code. So PT 2019.5 still isn't 100% 64 bit thus this continued error message.

Yes do not worry about it, and for all practical purposes of working with audio... Pro Tools is fully 64 bits.

I have had no luck posting my images via Imgur or Google Photos to this forum (I used to use Photobucket without issue, but I'm not paying them when other resources are available). I'm gonna try Flickr now.

I would like to show what I did yesterday on a whim with the old Dverb 2.0 test on PT 2019.5 and Mojave 10.14.5, it's insane. I had the session set for 48KHz/24 bit/1024 buffer, max 384 tracks in session, one with the test tone, 383 with 5 D-Verbs each and in record. I had it record for 5 mins with no glitches, snaps, crackles, pops or errors all the while the CPU meter was 100% red most if not all the time. Never seen anything like it in all my years here and this was with an Antelope Zen Studio+ hooked up via USB, not what you call a "High Performance" setup for an audio interface.

Picture here:

Just noticed that Avid have now added 10.14.5 to the supported MacOS versions with the latest update of the PT 2018/2019 System Requirements page a couple of days ago:

http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/c...m-Requirements

Which obviously would mean that 10.14.5 is also fully qualified now.
