Default The T-Racks group buy

You've probably heard of it. Great value. It is 4 for the price of 1 now, and next week it will be 5. Use the eSoundz offer and you'll get some loops as a bonus. (If you like, you are welcome to refer to me - esoundz user "jus11" - when buying, it will give some esoundz pointz to me and to you as well.)

http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?P...e=groupmix2009

The Vintage Comp and Vintage EQ highly recommended, if I may say so. (Note: With these two and some others there has already been a maintenance update for the authorisation issue - the frequent need to reauthorise every two days or so - that there occurred with OSX 10.5.7. With others the updates will be there very soon, I have been told. So don't let it bother you.)

Excellent, that means:

5 x More Buffer Errors

Sorry to be cynical but i noticed that the original announcement wasn't a popular thread and IK RTAS performance is pretty lame at best. I guess i'm a bit bitter because my IK plugs perform so bad in pro tools i just don't use them any more, a shame.

They don't run that well in Logic 8 either! It's a shame because they sound good. The price is good too.

That's the most annoying part of it all, especially when it comes to the Ampeg plug.

Yes, thanks for the note, I agree in some sense. IK plug-ins are a little trickier with buffers than many others; not any trickier, though, than Smack and TL Space, for instance. In my opinion.

I use them mainly in mixing stage with large buffers. And anyway there's always Audiosuite. Especially with Ampeg one could try using Audiosuite and some settings copy-paste.

Update: it's 5 for the price of one currently. Plus only a few customers to go to three free R.A.W. loop packs at eSoundz (and there will also be some bonuses by Squids, as he has promised at KVR).

You don't need to believe the hype; just try out the demos (from the IK site) yourself.

Be sure to use the eSoundz link above, if you wish to have the loop packs as well.

I hope somebody from IK reads this thread.

The moral of the story:

If you make crap quality plugins for industry standard audio production systems, you can't give them away.

Just for the note, if anyone's interested: the first ten songs in our myspace player use a lot of IK plug-ins, especially Amplitubes (most of the guitars), Ampeg (all bass) and the Sampletank-engine instruments from the Total Workstation 2 bundle. Made with my PT LE & iMac (see below) and a PT HD & G5 system. The music is what it is, but crap plug-ins?

My last note on the matter:

There will be 2000 buyers very soon (I guess today in European time). That means everyone will get 5 T-Racks Singles of their choice + CSR Hall (that's 1/4 of the whole CSR series). Buiyng from eSoundz gives you also three R.A.W. loop packs + a bonus pack (it will be song construction kits or something) + a voucher of 25 dollars.

All this: 99 dollars. If you refer to me, pm me and I'll try to return the favor if I have a chance in the future.

I still use T-RackS 1.3 and Amplitube 1 (as well as SampleTank 2.5 and stuff). the audio from T-Racks is good, it's a plug-in at least one studio owner I know will not do without. Ampliutube 1 is good, although I've found it can output some runaway noise, even when no audio is passing through it. I would have liked to upgrade to the latest versions, but the cost for previous owners is way too steep... same with adding the various flavours of Amplitube (Jimi Hendrix, Fender and so on) to the suite. Besides. I have read in many places they are all a bit heavy on the CPU, and my G5 needs all the help it can get these days. Yes, I could try the demos, but what's the point? I can't justify the upgrade prices.

$99 sounds like a pretty good price for what you get; it may be worth my while revisiting IK, especially if I decide the Liquid Mix's uncompensated (yet massive) delay isn't worth the hassle in PT LE. :-/
