Default Strike export to midi

Is it just me, or is strike's export to midi utterly useless? Unlike the manual, I have to create destination tracks. Fine.

But why in the hell do the notes not correspond to the same instruments in the individual hit section of the keyboard?. I copy a kick/snare/hat beat and when I play it back I get a sidestick/tom solo?!??!?!? Are you kidding me?

Did I miss the part where exporting a pattern would then logically lead to midi tracks that would play back the same pattern in strike using individual hits? I'll even forgive the need to remerge the midi into one track, but why do I need to move notes, not to mention figure out where they should go.

Please tell me this is a bug...

Yep that sounds like my problem too. It just works funky and not in a good sort of way.

Me too. Strike would rule if only the feature I bought it for would work!

So let us be clear. Strike's Export Midi supposed to give you a full piano roll type midi track that you can edit note for note on a instrument or midi track?? Is there a way - I have used Groove Agent before - you can reroute the out put to a midi track? instead of importing individual pattern - if it works..

Also, is this "bug" in both PC and Mac Version??

I'm just wondering why you wouldn't use the editor built-in to Strike? It has much more control over events..add,move, delete, audition, replace sounds and quantize in a much more useable and elegant interface than the piano-roll in protools. I think the intent was people would use this editor as it is more powerful...the fact that the midi export seems a little buggy right now shouldn't be a big concern as most editing should/would be done within Strike.

Maybe I'm missing something...I only use the piano-roll midi track in protools to add and play preset patterns from Strike...and it works rather well.

I just got Strike 3 days ago. I was just bummed out that I could not use Strike's pattern in a traditional way - I know there are edit mode. Manual is terrible PDF only - I need also to find out if I need a odd beat measure - how can I do that.. so for every variation I have to create a separate pattern.. like old time drum machine. which a song was based on sequence of patterns. which is both good and bad.

I find it piano roll convenient that if your songs become complex.. I like to always put a one time only variation even within similar verse 1 and 2..

I have not really played enough to make and save my own pattern. But in any event they should fix the bug soon.
