Default How do I fix this grid?

Got this session from a client. The grid is all messed up. I can't see why. There is some weirdness between bar 7 and 9. Bar 8 seems to be missing. Even when I zoom in. The session starts at bar 3. There is no bar 1 and 2.

Try opening up the Meter ruler. I don't see anything on the Tempo ruler, so maybe there is an odd time signature in there somewhere.

Starting the session at bar 3 is not unusual or anything to be concerned about IMO. The start bar is user-definable.

As to the no bar 8, I'm wondering if the vertical line in the grid just slightly before 9 is a very very short bar that somehow got truncated. You might try zooming in and putting you cursor in that tiny space just before bar 9 to see if the counter shows it as bar 8|*|*

Looks like bar 7 beat 4 is long enough, so I'm guessing that's extra real estate you can do without. If all the music appears to be there, I'm wondering if there is a very slight hitch before bar 9 that would go away if you zoomed all the way in and deleted that little sliver of extra time from the session.

Yeah, bar 3 not a big deal, but the bar 8 crap is the problem. I can't easily rearrange audio with the grid out of alignment. When I highlight bar 7/1/000-9/1/000, I should have 2 bars selected, but it shows I have 1/3/960 selected.

Hard to tell much just seeing that slice of the session with the limitations of resolution when zooming.

Wondering if you created a new session at that tempo and imported the tracks if it would help. Looks like other than the perc stuff most of it is off the grid anyway. But you knew that....

You know, it looks like that might work. When we get past that weird non-bar, it appears as thought the hat might be slightly early to the grid - about the amount of that extra slice. The new session thing might work.

New session worked. But I wonder what exactly happened.
