Default Time display problem

At 20 seconds into a music track the ProControl display reads as follows:

Hours:00 (that's ok!)
Minuits:0.2 (what's that?)
Seconds:0.7 (and that?)
Frames: 87 (I want to switch frames off as
they whiz round so fast they are a
distracting blur)

On an SSL you can switch off frames as on music sessions they rarely come into play and are a maddening visual distraction while looking for a time cue in a song. I can't do my usual trick of puttting tape over the offending area as the time numerals are shifted accross one, seconds are showing up in the minuit segment.etc etc...
I wonder if my display is faulty? As a pointer, when PC is offline, the display says "OFFLINE" with one blank LED display on the RIGHT HAND side. Is this correct? Either way, my time display is wrong. Can you help me please digi?
Anyone?
TIA,
Jules

Jules:

I just checked mine today when I got to the studio. I don't see that problem. I can't make it do that, so I don't have an answer. I am running PT5.0 on a 9600/300 with OS9. It seems to be OK other that what we discussed about sluggishness in many areas.

Hopefully someone else has an answer. Have you just tried resetting you PC in the Periphials section, trashing prefs, etc?

Jules,

I suspect that you have your time display set to min/sec. What you are seeing is probably this:

Time in Pro Tools - 18.32.757 (18 min, 32 sec, 757 msec)
Display in Pro Control - 1|8.3|2.7|57

Because of how Pro Control is set up to see 2 digits for Time Code, the other displays don't translate well.

This happened to me when I first got my Pro Control. I now leave my main time display set to Time Code most of the time now in PT5, unless I'm working with midi, then its bars/beats. Hope this is of some help.

Can this be sorted in a future revision digi?
Bad news for the music world used to tape time displays....How about being able to switch off frames at least then????
