Default Re: What are your mandatory required Plug-Ins for PT?

I remember the Cher song and Kid Rock song at almost the exact same time. I was living in Detroit then so maybe the Kid Rock song was more of a local hit.

As for indispensable plugs:
Ozone 4 (or 3)
Massey CT4
Massey L2007
Digi Air Rectifier (use the suboctave over(under)tones as a bass aux send to create a very round bass appropriate for modern rock.)
Kjaerhaus Classics: chorus and flanger. (Set a bass aux send with a high pass filter and then the stereo chorus for an awesome sounding 80s/duff McKagen bass)
Ferox (high end tape setting) on the master fader

I use a lot of virtual instruments too. I can't imagine life without BFD2. I've tried other drum emulators but none ever seem to sound as good and match my workflow as well as BFD. I also use Xpand2 in almost every session in some way or another.

I'm a home hobbyist with only occasional paid work so my choices are based around inexpensive (or free) plugs and suites. I've had opportunity to work with the Waves and McDSP stuff and would very much like to have those instead of the things I've listed above... but ohhhhh the cost! It's not within my means right now. The difference when working with that high end stuff is quite apparent.

...Which means, of course, the FXpansion VSTtoRTAS adapter is indispensable.

Unquestionably, it's the best $99 you can spend on recording gear period.

I like the Kirby B list, but add to that PSP Vintage Warmer 2, and Neon HR, DUY Tape and Valve. I am also getting some great sounds with DUY Magic Spectrum.

This list almost completely changes per mix for me. My own list is also pretty geeky at times with many "experimental" plug-ins and routing.

Clients have different preferences, so I accommodate. Pitch 'n Time Pro is used primarily for time compression/expansion.

For pitch correction I use Waves Tune myself. For quick fixes I just automate the pitch parameter of a pitch plug-in.
