Default Why can't AVID fix the layout of EQ bands?

I'm wonder if AVID ever manages to fix the order of freq-band knobs on S1/S3 surfaces.
When you switch to EQ, the bands are laid out on the knobs like this:

low, low mid, high mid, high, mid

so mid band is most right, regardless which plugin you use.
It would be so much more logical, if mid band would reside in the middle.
This bugs me, every time I use the knobs.

Cheers
Maik

Or better yet, rewind back to mid 2000's where we could layout every plugin (no just EQ's) the exact way we want to!!! Talk about a huge step backwards.

Oh, and while they're at it. How about enabling the use of both rows of knobs for a single plugin (or panning) on the S3... again, like how they had it in 15 years ago with the D-Command.

...custom layouts have been on the list for a very long time now.
We have been told, that they will come. But it never happened.

I'm unsure if we will be able to use the full potential of our controllers in the future.

I understand what you're saying, but I am sure this is on purpose and Avid have thought through it.

Personally, I prefer the layout as is. 4 bands is enough for 98% of what I do, and if I need to access another band, I just page over. Pretty simple.

Having EQ bands land on the same knob for every plugin is more valuable to me than having the mid band in the correct order.
