Song bounce length
I searched but couldn't find an answer. When I did an offline bounce, the file is 1 min longer past the last note in the session. I checked for any hidden edits, volume, pan, but can't see anything that would cause it to do that. I did notice that my timeline window can scroll all the way to measure 500, even though the song 'ends' at 80 something. I also tried highlighting the measures beyond the last note and hitting delete, but they remain. What am I overlooking?

Re: Song bounce length
Did you HIGHLIGHT exactly what you want to bounce first?

Re: Song bounce length
It does the same thing to me, Just make a timeline selection from where you want the end back to the start and it will only bounce that length.

Re: Song bounce length
Yes, that's how it works. Don't highlight anything, it bounces the entire length of the edit window.

Re: Song bounce length
Thanks for your replies. I don't remember having to highlight the song unless I wanted it to extend beyond the last note played ex reverb tail. I must've been doing it without realizing it before, because my bounces would end after the last sound.
Part two: How do I make the timeline shorter? 500 extra measures just can't be right. Would it have something to do with the 'Default Length' preference?

Re: Song bounce length
Highlight EXACTLY what you want to bounce, no more, no less. It's always worked that way. Don't worry about the timeline.

Re: Song bounce length
I must've been sending a lot of 'dead' space without realizing it once I started using offline bounce. So used to thinking it stops automatically. Wonder where I got that idea? DP, or Logic perhaps
Thanks for setting me straight! I know now to be more careful with the bounces and just highlight, highlight, highlight. There, that should be enough so I won't forget to do it!!

Re: Song bounce length
Selecting the longest recorded track from start to finish is the way, in Edit Window.
unless you have a video or Midi. |
