For technical support from Digidesign, it would be best to contact customer support directly. This DUC is a user information sharing community and although a Digidesign administrator chimes in occasionally, you may not get much in terms of a response from Digi here. In looking over your Sis Sandra report, everything look okay to me. The buffer errors are often associated to the hard drive not keeping up with the demands of Protools so you might check to see if there is anything that might be causing disk access delays. You are recording and playing back from a physically separate drive so that is good but perhaps there are bad sectors or extensive fragmentation of the data. Make sure you are not using any from of RAID or disk mirroring. Also make sure you are not using antivirus utilities. This is a tough one as everything looks like it should be fine.

I have no antiviruse on the computer it is stripped. Recording only. I am using ide drives. Would this be a problem? I see my disk usuge at 30%. The operating system does not share the same cords. I need help with this. Im to the point that Im getting sick of recording. Customer support is no good for me now. I dont have Raid never set one up and ASUS said that disk mirroring is not part of there program.

Is there a way to check for disk access delays? Will an External firewire drive help. Are they faster than ide drives. Acording to Asus for me to have sata drives in my computer I have to run raid. They say I would need to get another mother board A8N.

Only if they are set to or stuck in PIO mode. An old flaw in windows can make IDE drives get stuck in PIO mode. Make sure your recording drive is in DMA mode.

Microsoft info or you can google "stuck in PIO"
